Systemdoctor and Drivecleaner...

I have had trouble with these programs for a while now... and they usually pop up once or twice each time I log in.

I have run Spybot, Adaware, Norton, and Security Task Manager. None of these seems to have found the problem...

When I ran Tweaknow, it found 50 problems and cleared them. Alas, none of them were systemdoctor or drivecleaner.

When I looked these programs up, I learned that they are actually anti spyware programs that use unethical tactics to get people to buy their products.

I downloaded the free version of Xoftspy, and it found things that nothing else would find, but I need to know before I buy it... will xoftspy take care of these programs?

And if it won't, what programs will work?

I don't want to take my computer into the shop, because it's too expensive.

Please help me fight off this seemingly invincible spyware.

Thanks for any help.

Uh-oh.

I've also found a virus called dvduse.dll

Norton can't delete it, and when I try to delete it manually it says "Cannot delete this file, another person or program is using it" or something.

I don't know what to do.

Again, any help would be appreciated.

Well, after several days and no replies later, I decided to find my own way to defeat this unwanted threat..

Turned out I got rid of the spyware with Ewido (I think), and I deleted the virus by simply pulling my internet adapter out of the USB port to end the connection with the virus' source.

Needless to say, I am happy to have defeated the virus myself.

Woot.
