UK vs US Unreal Tournament

Following much rumblings amongst the fraternity here It has been decided that we should consider an contest, a tournament.

The original Unreal Tournament remains one of the most influential first person shooters around. It's fast and its furious.

So Im proposing to organise a tournament... UK vs US.

A simple shakedown.. with some fun

1) 1 vs 1 = A table of players.. fighting one on one .. UK vs US.. down to a final.. to determine who is the best.

Then..

2) Team deathmatch and team Capture the flag.. UK vs US.. fighting to the death and then fighting for the flags.

Then..

3) An open free for all deathmatch set of rounds.. who is the fragmaster??!

and last..

4) A single match of last man standing. To determine who is the UT kings.. and where they live.

I'm in for sure. I may be a bit rusty, but I'm sure my rusty will prove to be 10x more loaded with wup ass then any U.S based UT god wannabe.

I'm up for it...but..uh...I'm a German in US 'captivity', so which side am I on?

Btw, how are servers gonna be handled? Will we set a ship up in the Atlantic dead center between Wales and New York City so both sides are kind of even in connection terms?

Also, Souriat, do you have a bigger (read: clearer) pic of your avatar? I know someone who'd love it!

I may be able to find a cd... I don't remember, since I haven't played in a couple years, do we need a cdkey? heh... my version is most likely of the burned persuasion. But cause I haven't played in a while, doesn't mean you can knock me around. I'm still cleaning off my ak from all the blood from headshots in cs...

The linked to map is a great capture the flag, I used to be addicted to it. See what you guys think, it quite large and as essentially a two level setup. There are two primary routes to reach each base to try and capture the enemies flag, through an extremely direct route, which stretches down long corridors and a less direct but more challenging covert underground route.

Try it out and see if you think it's a worthy map.

and server....! We need to have somebody (maybe even an impartial non-player) organize the tournament ang keep stats.. Shorty offered to host the server, but his connection is only 256K Up, and somehow I don't trust a slimy brit to host it - he'll probably figure out a way to cheat... We need a neutral nation to host - like canada perhaps... Maybe I'll see what I can dig up...
