Re: New computer won't boot

I am having this EXACT same problem as the original poster, with very similar specs (e6400, MSI P965 Platinum mobo).

Please, please if anybody can help... I am so lost as to what to do right now. =(

I have tried resetting cmos and disconnecting all unneeded components, but still resetting itself.

[Moderator Edit Follows]:

Here is the post Mr. Gizmo refers to:
Antec Performance One P150 Miditower,
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz Socket
Samsung SpinPoint P120S 250GB SATA2
MSI GeForce 7950GT 512MB GDDR3, Silent
Asus P5B, P965, Socket-775, ATX,
TwinMOS DDR2 PC5300 2048MB Dual Pack KIT

I never got it to boot. The computer starts up (i.e leds on etc) but after a couple of seconds it will die. Then it tries to start again, fans will start spinning but I'll get nothing on the monitor.

Re: New computer won't boot

Well, I took EVERYTHING apart, reseated the CPU, reset the bios, switched the RAM, and tried to boot up with the mobo resting on cardboard.

Same thing.

Ordered a new mobo.

One thing you do not mention is a PSU, a poor quality PSU will cause this behavious in many case's, Psu's are often the component skimped on in new build's, very dangerous thing to do. IMO
