dlink dwl 520 + hanging system

Got a dlink wireless card for my rig. Installation went smoothly, but my system keeps freezing up. I've tried different pci slots, latest drivers etc. Can't find much on google. Usually hangs the system within 2-3 minutes. I have the latest bios for my board, all the XP updates, everything else runs smooth until I put this card in.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

If you had another card in there this will show if it got uninstalled properly. Your card could be on there more than once also.
uninstalling phantom network cards

Go to the Device Manager and uninstall Network Interface Cards.
Close the Device Manager.

Next open a command-prompt and enter the following commands, pressing enter after each command:

set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1

start devmgmt.msc

The first command allows Device Manager to show phantom devices. The second command launches Device Manager. From the Device Manager's menu, select View, Show hidden devices. Expand the Network Adapter tree, and delete the old adapters.

Close the Device Manager and reboot your system to reinstall both of your adapters

Nice, it did show extra adapters, but it didn't make any difference.
Also, I'm not trying to run two wireless adapters. I've tried two different wireless adapters, one at a time, and have had the same lockup problems with each one.
