Yes, it is purely art in it's best form. I have no idea what it is saying and I am no fan of Russia/Soviet Union, but wow... ever since I first heard it when I was VERY young and watched Hunt for Red October, I was stunnedSimGuy had this to say

Do you want the "Orchestra" version by the Moscow Symphony, the "Orchestra with Vocals" version by Bolshoith or the standard version by the Russian Red Army Chorus?
Although I don't necessarily agree with the political motives or ideals of Russia, their national anthem is a classical work of art, easily one of (if not the) best national anthems when looked at from a purely classical music stand-point.
