Desperately seeking... typing tutor?

hello. I'm looking for a free typing tutor application.

i've recently set my mother up w/ her own pc, and i'm teaching her how to use Firefox / the Internet. Surprizingly, she's catching on really well for a 70 yr old lady! However, she has expressed dissatisfaction w/ her typing skills-- commented that she should turn off the computer and sit w/ just the keyboard to try to regain her typing skills of yesteryear. I told her not to do that as i would find a FREE training utility to help her remaster the skill.

What do you recommend? I need something which is very simple to use, yet effective and again, i'd prefer a FREE utility, but i'm willing to spend some money on it.

Thank you very much for your help!

There's a few free programs here... keyboarding/freeware
The Analytical Eye Typing Tutor looks like it might be a good one.
If any peticular one doesn't work, there are always other programs that are a little different in their approach on teaching typing.
I thought that would be a good one because it teaches the computer keyboard skills along with the typing skills.
Let us know if you try any and which you like.
Hope this helps.

now seeks a Windows XP / Basic Use Tutorial for beginners

Hey, y'all are always really helpful and thoughtful in your replies, and i have always appreciated that about this forum, so i wish to propose another question, also regarding my 70 yr old mum's knocking around on the ol' PC. (hehe... thank goodness i gave her her-own box!)

you know that "Welcome to XP" built in tutorial which comes up after you install XP? well, that one is probably TOO complex for her, but something like that would be cool-- have you ever seen those Flash tutorials where you click on the parts just like you would in the real application? one of those would be GREAT for her. just something that she could do over and over to see how to do simple stuff like re-size windows, purpose of scroll bars, basic stuff like that.

i'm all ears! thanks guys and dolls!

I don't know of any decent flash ones. The one I've recomended to people before is text based but it's pretty good about not making assumptions.

There is also this site which has what you've asked but I haven't dug to deeply into it. Though the few videos I checked out were pretty descent. Normally I've just used the previous site becasue I was putting the info into news letter format.
