Realtime data via Rs232

Hi,

I'm trying to export realtime Simulink data over an RS-232 (i.e. joystick). I can only seem to get basic a RS232 connection working. I can write commands from matlap using basic fprintf commands and detect them on hyperterminal on another pc.

As with a lot of people I am having difficulties connecting Simulink to an RS232. If there is no easy way, then how can I at least import sampled realtime data into an array (or something else) to use with the fprintf over serial???

Normal "to workspace" blocks dont seem to be able to sample a sinlge (not array etc) realtime unit.
