DFI preparing MI P55-T36, first P55 mini-ITX motherboard
A report from Clunk.org.uk indicates that motherboard vendor DFI is preparing to introduce the market’s first P55-based mini-ITX motherboard.
According to the report, the 170mm x 170mm mainboard will carry the MI P55-T36 name and offer the following connectivity options.
- 6-Phase PWM w/ Japanese solid capacitors (High quality)
- Up to six USB 2.0
- One 16x PCIe 2.0 slot
- 3x SATA II ports with RAID
- 2x DDR3 slots (Dual Channel)
- Realtek ALC 885 7.1 codec
- Intel GBe LAN
- 1x powered e-SATA
- Coaxial/Optical SPDIF
Six-phase PWM with solid Japanese caps is going to ensure that this board is both reliable, and a monster overclocker for its size. If you chase that with DFI’s pedigree of providing stable, predictable, and highly-overclockable boards, then the MI P55-T36 could easily be the board to get for pint-sized performance.
Unfortunately there is no word on the product’s release date or MSRP, but judging by the state of the packaging and the board, we’d say late December for about $160.
