Firefox updated to v3.5.5

firefoxMozilla has recently updated Firefox to v3.5.5. This latest update to the browser is a small patch, comprised of a few bug fixes to eliminate some crash cases that have been reported.

“ASSERTION: Inserting multiple children without flushing”

crashes [@ nsDocument::RegisterNamedItems(nsIContent*)]

Put a runtime NS_IsMainThread check in nsCycleCollector::Suspect2 and Forget2

startup crash [@ gfxWindowsFontGroup::WhichFontSupportsChar(nsTArray<nsRefPtr<FontEntry> > const&, unsigned int)]

Crashes in gif decoder [@ xul.dll@0x348945][@ xul.dll@0x348864][@nsGIFDecoder2::GifWrite(unsigned char const*, unsigned int)]

Most notable on this list are fixes for a startup crash and a crash in Firefox’s GIF decoder. The Mozilla Foundation has already begun deployment of the update and users should expect Firefox to automatically update soon, if it hasn’t already.

    Yeah it has been crashing on me lately. Either this update might have solved it, or after a few reinstalls yesterday.

    3.6 Beta 1 is now out, by the way.

    I crashed for the first time in a long time just yesterday after I installed this update. Odd.
