Is Steve Jobs prepping for the goodbye?
In Apple’s meteoric return to international recognition, Steve Jobs has been at the fore of the ranks of developers that have restored the once-ailing firm. Yet yesterday’s Macbook events saw a Steve Jobs that was not only remarkably subdued, but also gave the reins to other luminaries within Cupertino. Gizmodo suggests that this is not an accident, and instead a symbolic gesture to prove that Apple is in good hands if he should leave.
It’s certainly compelling conjecture, as investor belief has often trended towards the notion that Apple is nothing without Mr. Jobs. It is of interest because it does represent a stark departure from prior events where Jobs was nothing if not commanding and in charge. Might this represent a willingness to show that Apple is filled with many creative and brilliant minds all operating on the same page?
