NVIDIA kicks off GPU Technology Conference

gtc_logoNVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang will soon take the stage to deliver the keynote address for this year’s GPU Technology Conference.

The GTC is three-day event dedicated to NVIDIA innovations and trends within the GPU industry. Items on the agenda this year are expected to include DirectX 11, Tegra, ION, GPGPUs, cinematic rendering and physics. To a lesser degree of certainty, it is said that NVIDIA might even demonstrate its upcoming GT300 core, which has been delayed due to process immaturity.

The liveblog below will automatically update as we do, so don’t worry about refreshing! Also make sure to visit us throughout the week as we detail new products and ideas unveiled at the conference.

I sincerely hope they keep their focus in this conference on themselves and what they are doing to respond to the challenge of AMD's more advanced production state, rather than letting it slip to reasons why people shouldn't buy AMD products. My opinion of nvidia as a corporation is going to change as a result of this conference. Whether for better or worse, the topics they cover are going to influence my feelings about the company.

Whether for better or worse, the hardware they cover [is] going to influence my feelings about [my purchases].

Feelings about companies are worthless. They're all out to take your money.

Which can be said for the companies that we all work for Snark. We all get paid by someone who takes someone else's money.
From a consumer standpoint, I hope that they are giving me something worthwhile for the money I paid them.

For me it is not just about the product anymore, it has to be bigger than that.

I'm confused. It's bigger than the product, but you want to receive something worthwhile for your money?

I know all of our companies take peoples' money, too, I'm not being sentimental - just realistic. Apple isn't any more or less evil than Microsoft, nVidia isn't any more or less evil than ATi, AMD isn't any more or less evil than Intel; it's all just business. How a company talks about another company means nothing to me; how its silicon performs compared to another company's makes me sit up and listen.
