Gaming roundup – international gaming news edition
It’s hard for me to remember that gamers exist outside of North America, but I’ll do my best. Chip chip, hajimemashite.
- Attention UK Gamers: Leonard Cheshire Disability and Aardman Animations (of Wallace and Gromit fame) are having a contest: Play any of the “Creature Discomforts” games and the top five high scores in each game will win a signed and framed picture of the “creature” from that game. The winners will also be eligible to win tickets for an advance screening of the new Wallace and Gromit film, “A Matter of Loaf and Death,” as well as a tour of Aardman Animations studios. You get to participate in an animation workshop at Aardman, too! Just so.
- As much as we have been enjoying Left4Dead, I am glad the game is about to be released, ’cause that means we can get back to TF2 updates. Valve’s to do list: Meet the spy, Meet the medic, Meet the pyro, and then update packs for Demoman, Engineer, Spy, Scout, Soldier, and Sniper. GET TO IT.
- Inventor of Ultima and Tabula Rasa fame, Lord British (aka Richard Garriott), is done with NCSoft. Going to space apparently changes a man. Now he wants to… You know… Go to space more… Instead of writing games… I guess…
- Japanese megapublisher Square Enix has inked their first-ever deal with an American development studio. They will be publishing Gas Powered Games’ Supreme Commander 2.
- Speaking of Japan, Bethesda will be censoring the Japanese version of Fallout 3. Kotaku reports that they will specifically be removing certain references to sensitive issues such as detonating a nuclear bomb.
- Call of Duty World at War is out. You may know it better as CoD5. Anyway, here’s how to unlock player vs. zombie mode. Woo zombies!
- Today’s casual of the day is Robokill. This game is awesome. Thank me later.
Ready to
