        <description><![CDATA[<p>A few months ago, I started a new discord server for those who were playing in CivVI hotseat turn-a-day games with me, so that we could have live chat rooms for each ongoing game. Now most of our planning and recruiting for new games takes place there (no one was chatting about the game here anymore).</p>

<p>If you would like to join this exclusive server, and be part of this small group of hotseat Civ players, just let me know, and I'll send you an invite. We're starting a new game soon, but anyone can suggest new games, and we'll make a new channel just for the players of that game (or for the members of each team in a team game).</p>

<p>Joining the server does not obligate you to play a game with us. You can also just hang-out and talk abotu Civ stuff in the general room. <img src="https://icrontic.com/resources/icrontimoji/smile.gif" title=":)" alt=":)" /></p>

Map will be 'Inland Sea', sized to one level below the number of players (e.g. if we get 6 players, we'll use the 4 player map size). The number of city states will not be scaled down.<br />
Starting Era will be Classical</p>

<p>Players may choose their leader. Duplicates allowed.</p>

        <description><![CDATA[I've been pondering this for a while, and I think it's time to give it a shot.

The game will be an 'us vs them' OCC variant of Civ 5. The only victory conditions will be domination and scientific. We'll start in the Medieval era, a team of Icrontians vs an equal sized team of random GMR players. No CPU players and I'm still not sure on City States. 

Post here for interest, and we'll discuss any rule setups, including expansion pack choices.

Once we have a team of Icrontians together, I'll create the game and invite everyone, and once all the Icrontians join I'll open the game to the public. The only requests of the players will be: 1) no drops and 2) have an average turn time under 13 hours in your existing GMR games.

        <description><![CDATA[CB's 'Rock the Kasbah' game got me thinking the concept of everyone being a single civ is a pretty cool mechanic for balancing the game. In that spirit, who's interested in joining me as a Pacific islander? That's right, in this game, everyone will be Polynesia.

I'm thinking Tiny world, archipelago, strategic balance resource distribution, no CSs (because how much sense does it make for Quebec City to show up in Polynesia?) quick game pace, Classical Start.

Note for those who haven't tried the mode: If we turn the game to 'always peace' war declarations will simply never be an option, even against city states, but we will still have to defend ourselves against barbarians. Those barbs will be aggressive, plan accordingly.

Was the map size better this time? any other settings suggestions?

<p>Same settings as the first game: <strong>Terra map, Classical Start</strong>. The big difference will be, of course, that now we have a bunch of expansion content.</p>

So I want up to 6 of you to play...

Game begins in the Industrial Era, domination is the only victory condition, waghs will be long and bitter.

Some rules:
Everyone plays as this Indian psychopath.
When you met another player you MUST declare war immediately. 
You MUST play regularly, I don't need another game I can go a fortnight without getting a turn.
Preferably players will have the Gods and Kings expansion, it makes the combat a lot better and spying will be lulzy.

        <description><![CDATA[<i>I sit on my throne and I wonder... Is there someone out there for me?

I survey my tiny island kingdom and know that I'm supposed to think that it is enough. I have my many concubines to occupy my bed at night, my queen to bear the heirs that fill my heart and days with joy, but still I feel like only half of a soul.

Is there another king out there somewhere for me? Another leader of men, ruler of another small island nation, a drinker of life and salt air who would truly understand me for the man I am? Is he out there now, staring at the same stars as I, dreaming of the same armies, and the same immortal monuments?

I know he is, and I will find him! I shall build a great fleet to seek the twin of my soul, and when we find one another, we shall conquer this watery world as one!</i>

'Twin Flames' will be an 8-player game with 4 teams of 2 players apiece. Partners are required to be the same nationality (in-game).

The world will be large, and littered with many small, mostly tropical, islands; lots of city-states; and more barbarians than normal.

We'll start in the Medieval era and play on 'Quick' speed.

The only victory conditions available will be military and diplomacy, which means you and your partner will have to either take everyone else's capitols or convince the city-states to band behind you against your opponents.

If you're not familiar, teams in Civ V work thus: Players start randomly in the world, so your partner might be on the other side of the world, and they might be on the next island over. Players on the same team share map data and technology automatically at all times and they win or lose as a team.

        <description><![CDATA[<p>To all that play GMR:<br />
Can we please all try to make sure we check the golden globe notifications on the right side of each turn? I'm frequently sending trade offers that just get ignored, which is a bit difficult only because we can only trade with 1 other human player per turn. So if an offer I send out gets ignored, I wasted the opportunity of trading with someone else that turn.</p>

<p>The trick is to just mouse over the golden globe and see what it is, if it's a deal notification left click it and accept/deny/modify. Remember you can also hide notifications by right clicking them.</p>

        <description><![CDATA[Here is the place to discuss (in or out of character) the first Icrontic 12-player Free-for-all Civ 5 game. Use this place to call out foes, narc on opressors, make last ditch efforts to obtain allies, etc. Please keep the "Take your stupid turn!" style nagging to a minimum. It's going to be a long game no matter how we slice it. Don't expect to take more than one turn a week at most. Also note that Load times for each turn will be very long due to the size of the map, and will only get longer as the game progresses. I recommend you set up Civ to run in a window, so it can load the game in the background while you do other things.

The Participants in the game and their nationalities (note: I changed the name of the duplicate nationalities to avoid in-game confusion, as some in-game messages only tell you the nationality of the civ involved):

And since nobody in speculative fiction has yet realized AIs are a crapshoot I need ~5 of you to put down this genocidal dick:

It'll be a co-op game, Icrontians as one team of humies pitted against an equal number of <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.civfanatics.com/civ5/difficulties">'King' or 'Emperor' AIs</a> bent on our destruction.

No city states, one city challenge (humans get a single settlement each) and only Domination/Science victory conditions (kill the 'bots or flee to spess BSG style).
