HELP! Have a virus and can't delete it..

There is a virus on my pc, im not sure of the source of it, but every time i start a new session it creates three files in C:\Documents and Settings\Joel
Called mc-110-010-.exe , n (DOS batch file) , and setup.exe (the program description is 'w00t').

There is also a file which is in my limewire shared directory in a folder called '_', this folder does not show up in explorer, but it shows up in limewire itself, and inside the folder is a file called xzxzxzxzxzxzxzxz.exe and it is exactly 228KB (which i researched is a common virus file size).

So when i start my computer all these files are regenerated, and a command prompt window opens called C:\Documents and Settings\mc-110-010-.exe, and shortly closes itself and i think it runs in the background, because when i try to run command prompt in Start>Accessories>Command Prompt, it does not open and says "another program is currently using this file" (reffereing to \system32\cmd.exe

Please if anyone has any idea how to get rid of this i would appreciate ALOT, because this is scaring me.

I feel for you Joel, I just recently had a virus that was a major pain. It was a bundled mess... basically installing adware and spyware and loading my registry chalk full of garbage. too top it off Norton was a way huge pain in the butt to get off my computer and in the end proved the entire destruction of my files on my computer. my recomendation if your antivirus isn't picking it up, try downloading the avante! anti-virus software. it's free so long as it's a personal computer, and to top it off it has some nice features built into it. however if that's below you and you don't l feel like doing that: you'll have to boot up in safe mood, delete the file and it's contaminants and make sure that the registry doesn't have a built in recall function for that program.

basically look for a distinguishing mark of the file(perhaps the file name itself) then run a registry search and see what pops up. but becareful with the registry if you don't know what you're doing you'll probably frag your /config/system file and have to repair it using windows start up cd... which isn't such a bad thing if you don't mind dealing with the micro soft. but try that. and tell us what happens:

also try scanning your files after you download them but before you run them... if you have a current anti-virus than you should be well protected.
