I guess the extra cache does to a lil bit of help. I am presuming they were both at 100% at the time.

I don't know, I might buy a Barton, but I would buy a NF7-S to go with it as well so I can do some good overclocking. But first I need to save money so that I can do that.

The biggest problem being that when I buy a new CPU, I want it to be faster than my previous one, but since I am pretty much running as fast as the fastest AMD CPU (a XP2600 2.08@2.25GHz), there isn't much I can do about that.

I guess the Barton would decrease my times per WU by at least 1hr.

A Tbred 2.25 is pretty close to top of the line.

You'ld get more bang for your buck with either a NF2 mobo or a Water cooling system.

Of course if you can find someone willing to take that CPU off your hands for a good price you can cut that upgrade fee down to a justifiable level.
