Just to double check, to mod an XP into an MP, I want to connect the last L5 bridge with something that's electrically conductive, correct?

    Also, the last L5 is the one closest to the center of the chip, correct?

    FYI, here is an article from hardwarezone on how to mod bartons, I think you should find your info there.

    . | : : [] L5

    Needs to look like that

    : = Open
    . = Bridge start
    | = Closed
    [] = Painted

    Thanks... I tried it with the old Palomino 1700 last night shortly after I posted that, but it kept coming up as an XP in the A7N8X... but the K7D sees it as an MP... :confused: go figure... anyhow, so I did it to the 2500s, and they're working in SMP now too :D

    I thought closed and painted were the same thing.

    What's the difference?

    I remember on my old Pally I closed the bridges on my L1 or L3 (forget which now) but I also thought what I did was considered "painting" too.
