Welcome to the wonderful world of Folding, kmc. It can be addictive, so be aware. Once you start gathering a few points and getting a few milestones under your belt there may be a few challengers ahead. (refer..."The Gauntlet" thread, lol.)

Thanks for being part of team #93.

Each different protein is of a different size and hence the time to process each varies. The larger the WU, the longer it takes and the more points they are worth. At the moment i'm doing one on my P4 2.4G notebook and it will take around 38 hrs.

Hope this will give you an idea how the points work.

Broadband makes it very simple to download/upload. Does it all by itself, just too easy.

    Hi!

My name is Austin and I'm a 27 yr old hailing from Sugarland, TX.

My hobbies include (but is not limited to) staring at cubicle walls. When I'm not staring at cubicle walls, I'm usually preoccupied with sharpening pencils.

I've been lurking @ S-M for quite some time now. I've only recently joined due to a malfunction in my pencil-sharpener at the office. This led to excessive viewing of raunchy material on the web whilst at work, and subsequently downloaded free cool web software such as coolwebsearch.

Anywho, I decided to start folding@home for various reasons:

    1) Physically folding origami was damn near impossible.
    2) Pretty colors. I love 'em.
    3) I will have to find a new hobby soon; I'm moving out of the cubicle
    4) Chicks will dig me.. more so.
    5) I have loved ones who are close to me that would benefit from these types of discoveries.

I don't mind a good laugh, but if the joke is extremely bad, you will be reprimanded. If the joke is completely and utterly bad, it's ok. I'll still laugh. ;)

    C'yall!

Glad to have you Folding @ The Air Base gibbonsl I spent a year and a half in Grand Forks when they were just finishing building the base. I worked at KNOX-AM & KNOX-TV in the late 50's. Is Mr KNOX still there? Man is that country f l a t ________________ not a bump for miles and miles of sugar beets & wheat! :) Oh, and the fun part is the dust and snow when that all comes together - and they do call it SNiRT! ;D Jack ;D
