This is what I like to see, a bit of healthy competition. The winner in the long run is the project and the team. Keep it up guys:thumbsup:

    It's all about the cache!

    XP1700+ oc'd to 12.5x180 = 2250

    XP2500+ barton oc'd to 11x200=2200

The Barton is whoopin the XP by 30 seconds a frame on a 53 pointer!

If you want me to prove apples to apples, I can use a 200 FSB on the XP 1700+ too. The Barton still wins by the same range.

    a bit longer...mofo u better recognize....
the reason why i got a 2600+ is cuz by the time i purchased it..the 2500+ was already at 90 bux...so for an extra 14 bux i get like .17 ghz extra...so i opted for that...also the way i look at it.... the faster the base it has...the better ocing ability it has...so ill prolly hit AMD 3200+ speeds without ne problemo!!

In the Abit NF7-S mobo I have the 2500+ Barton in, it detects 11x200 as 3200+. Benchmarks like a 3200+ too! Cache matters folks.

    I'll post some scores later.

gotta love that "Naw Yarkar" accsent in your posts.... I just ordered a Asus A7V8X-X since my Abit KG-7Raid board smoked a few weeks ago. So, sometime next week I'll fire up my AMD 2300+ and I'll add some more fire power... but not like what you have coming online....

He can put his computers next to his meter and use them as extra cooling for his machines if the dials are spinning that fast ;D;D;D.

WuG, red is right; the extra cache on Barton procs definitely helps on folding Gromacs. I noticed the same thing as red did when I upgraded from my XP2100 "B" to my 2500.

I also know about spinning up that electric meter too, with my little farm running. It's not just the cost of running the rigs; you got to keep the room cool too. I had to add a 10,000 BTU window AC to my computer room to handle the extra heat from all this AMD toastiness.:eek2: I have 8 AMD and 2 Intel P3 procs running.
