SM1 is down.

When I got home from work on Friday, I noticed that the SM1 had power, but there was no signal to the monitor. So I turned her off, then back on. Nothing...
I was able to test the power supply and video card in another computer just fine, so I am pretty sure it is the mobo. I was also reading that if there are no beep codes, then your mobo is pretty much dead.
On my way home tonight, I am going to pick a new mobo for her to see if that helps.

I will keep you guys updated.

Thanks for being on top of things. Let us know if there is anything you need.

BTW: How is it that SM1 gets so many 600-Pointers? :D

Oh boy... It has been a while since I changed the settings on her, but I do believe I enabled BIG WUs, with the -advmethods flag.

Whatever it was, your baby is putting up some pretty impressive numbers for a T-Bird 1000. :respect::fold:

    Look at this week-by-week production:

Dang, I remember when we purchased that ECS brand new, damn Elite group.

Wow, that TBird is killing my XP1800@1800Mhz. How is that possible?

It has been using an old tbred. The tbird is sitting in my drawer having a party with some dust bunnies.

Thanks for the update... SM19 is sick too. Glad she's not the only one. Well, SM23 is sick... I knew I should have gotten her flue shots.... oh well. :D

Well... She is back. Not as good as before, but she is back. When I had her striped down, I noticed more problems than I had originally thought.
The damn SLK-800 was not sitting on the rubber feet, and when I took it off there were some horrible burn marks. I tried the chip in another computer and nothing.

The death toll has now risen to 2. 1 cpu and 1 mobo. :shakehead

Anyways, with a new mobo, a spare cpu, and a different hsf, she is great now.

Heh, there's a bug in the quick reply that messes up the laughing face when used alone.

Thanks for sorting that out so quick, t1

    Thanks Chris.

    What are the new specs.
  • t1rhinot1rhino Toronto

    Updated specs:
    XP1600+ @ 10.5*133 (default)
    Asus A7S8X-MX
everything else is the same as before.

I do believe the chip will run at 10.5*166 (~1743), but I am waiting for the system to settle in.

Would you do me a big favor and send me a PM listing which parts are official SMx parts, and which (if any) are "on loan" from your personal stash?

I'm in the process of updating the SMx Project page, and would really appreciate it. :)

    Thanks, t1
