You probably have too many running process trying to do the same thing: protect your computer. Look at what you have running:

    Windows Defender

    Ewido Security Suite

    System Mechanic

    Kaspersky Anti-Hacker

That may be one too many, they could be conflicting. Ewido - did you pay for that or is it just the trial version? If it is just the trial, uninstall it, the trial expires after a couple of weeks. System Mechanic - has a registry locking tool that may be freezing the system when you launch one of the other apps. Windows Defender - is still in Beta and also has a real time scanning and prevention mechanism.

Try removing them in this order:

Windows Defender; Ewido; System Mechanic; Kaspersky Anti-Hacker

Remove them one at a time and reboot, try launching something that was freezing up, see how it goes. If it still freezes, try the next one, and so on. If you remove all 4 and things still freeze up, then download and run Ccleaner to see if it can remove some extraneous junk from your system that may be causing conflicts, then try again. If that still does not solve it, you can reinstall some of those apps, as the problem lays elsewhere.

Let us know if this helps.

I uninstalled everyhi8ng and I still have explorer or windows shutting down my computer when I try to olpen programs mainky security types. I did read somewhere that coolwebsearch was stopping people from opening programs, the problem is how can I scan for it my antifrus program is working fine so I know there are no virus's but I can get run any programs to look for coolkwebsearch or any other bug that may be causing my problem. I know it started after a microsft update that's why I wanted to try uninstalling it from my computer but even thoug my system says it is installed and when I do I search I come up with a lot of sp2 related files and someing in the drivers cache a search using the run command comes up as no such file found on comoputer. So I'm really stuck now. Firefox works fine.
