Thanks...Getting stronger everyday. I have 2 machines working on batches, so when they finish that's an instant 20 work units or 4000+ points. Should be a week or two though before they're done LOL.

    Mudd: Doing great man thanks.

I don't have any pics of my machines because they are all spread out. I don't have any one location where there is a bunch of them.

WOW... I am use to saying "Must pedal faster." That usually works since I hardly ever see people come flying close to me.

In the past 3 months, Sledge and now FoldingAddict, have put the scare into me... pedalling faster will not work... need more power...

lol. I remember back in the days of version 2.19 when we were happy to get some units worth 2 points that were supposed to be worth .6 points. It's crazy now how the point values are going. I mean 700+ points for a single unit? God.

    I'll agree with FoldingAddict.
The computer we have today can really make you tick.
But with the summer coming on don't get the real ticks.

I'll guess when I m long gone, some will do 100.000 points per day.
Will you still remember me then and the effort I made ?

Edit, some time later in the thread history, one fallen foldier

There is a few whackers with more computers then they can maintain, folding.

But the majority is like you and me, folding using one computer and that's whats count.
But with all this ppd folding hungry threads, it is easy to give up.

But without us "slow" folders they have to shut down the folding.
So keep folding, because your effort really makes the different.

    Regards
    Esso

Ps in the end I doesn't care if you are folding for SM or anyone else, because we are on a mission that goes far beyond that. Ds.

I would not mind reading or hearing of serious improvements in the midecal world because of us "slow" folders...lol

Keep in mind that twelve people with just a single rig going are every bit as valuable as the bigshot with a dozen computers in his arsenal. If you're in school or college, do some recruiting in the cafeteria or around the dorm. (Heck - a lot of people would let you Fold under your username!)

I like to think of research like this as being somewhat similar to a search party looking for a kid who is lost in the woods. There are full-time professionals who are out there ten to twelve hours a day (or more). They are like the heavyweights with a massive Folding Farm. Then there are the volunteers who can only spare a few hours after work or on the weekend. Those are the folks with just a rig or two going.

The bottom line is that they are all helping - and often it's the part-time guys who make all the difference in the end. Every little bit helps. :)

Oh certainly. It was not that long ago that all I had to fold with was a pos willy P4 1.3. Back in the old days I could get maybe 35 points per week out of it and that's it. But I still folded, cause it was at least SOMETHING.
