Operton 148 or San Diego 3700+?

Currently helping a friend build a comp and was wondering whether he should go with the 3700+ or the 148. They're priced within a couple dollars of each other, but wasn't quite sure which one would perform better. I've heard alot of good things about the Opertons but have no experience with them myself so I thought it might be a good idea to ask here. The reason I was looking at these two chips is because my friend only wants to spend around $100 on the processor. Thanks in advance.

    Go the Opti, my 148 does 285fsb x 10 at stock volts, have to add a bit of voltage to get 285fsb x 11.

    I have the san diego 3700+ and I would suggest the opti as well, as I only got 220 x 11 out of mine. Plus, I feel the performance is less than stellar.
