Dual Boot

wondering how you do Dual boot with Win 98 or 2k with Xp. Have a guy who wants it done but he has serial drives and I wanna get a grasp on what i am dealing with before i start

    Older OS first than newer. 98 or 2k before XP and XP before Vista. Not sure about 98 and SATA but install the first OS with sata drivers on a floppy and install XP from within that installation (choosing another partition).

    98 can't do SATA at all.

    (EDIT: For the pedantic, this is not concrete, but it is the general rule)

    Also make sure you have a separate FAT32 partition for your Win98 install, which will have to be on an IDE Hard drive. And your 98 partition won't be able to access any information on an NTFS Hard drive or partition.

    It might make more sense to run 98 in a virtual machine on Vista/XP.
