I'm helping a friend of mine with his computer ailments. The symptoms are no video and the cd drive led oscillates. I used a 350w PSU from my back up computer and the system worked just fine. I later ordered a Coolermaster 450W PSU go it today then put it in and the same thing happened it's driving me nuts.

System is a Gatway MFBTX6BUSE4

Ok so its not posting ?

Check that the pc speaker is connected or that it has a onboard one on the motherboard.

    Remove the ram

If it beeps your motherboard and cpu are fine.

If you get nothing but spinning fans then your motherboard or cpu is dead.

Well as I said in a previous post
I used a 350w PSU from my back up computer and the system worked just fine
The new 450w PSU will work fine on my back up computer just not on his. I first thought it was a grounding issue.

I went to new egg to see if I can get a refund on my 450W PSU. They want to charge me 6.00 restocking fee 10.00 shipping. This sucks.

What brand and model is the 350W from your backup computer? It's possible that it's actually more powerful than the 450W Coolermaster.
