i have used firedaemon to run fah as a service on a few computers, although i have always used the graphic client so i don't know if there would be any difference. if the console version just runs from an .exe then i don't see how there would be any issues with doing it this way.

www.firedaemon.com you can get the free version here

FAH console works fine when being used with Firedaemon. Thats what I, and many others use.

There is a lil tutorial for you. Its an older version but its close enough to figure out. v1.5 Lite.

There is an option ot make it lower priority than normal in Firedaemon. Its very easy and I recommend it.

now why the hell would i want it to have a lower priority? ;)...i want that sucker using 100% for the little amount of time the pc is on..

maybe im mis-understanding something here...but i thought fah only used idle cpu processes...does that change when its running as a service?..i thought running it as a service would almost be the same as if i manually start the console when i boot-up (which the wife doesnt do hench the need for a service)

setting the priority determines how f@h will play with other programs ...if you set it too high it will make other programs difficult to impossible to run ...I set mine low so everything runs smoothly ...setting it high won't make it run any faster at all ...just gives it higher priority over other programs. I would set high priority on a dedicated folding machine perhaps.

If set to high it might take word another second to open is all.

Just the oposite of setting 3dmark to realtime when benching.

Just to make it unnoticable. If its fast enough it wont be felt anyway.
