Left 4 Dead Tournament

I would really love to see a pro level kinda tournament for this game. With teams of 4 doing the versus maps, with then ending of the tournament having the two best teams facing off against eachother for the championship.

We could either do it NCAA basketball style (if have enough teams) or have the teams each play eachother with the two highest scoring teams facing off.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Are you going to let each team be the survivors and the zombies? As I hear it, the zombie team is pretty underwhelming compared to the survivors, right?

I was thinking team vs team through an entire campaign. So yes each team would be infected and survivors. Winner is highest score at the end. Teams flip coin to see who is infected/survivor first and which map, Hospital or Blood Harvest you play.

4 teams or less we should do round robin, more than that we should do single elimination brackets.

Play through a campaign on versus and final score should determine winner. Probably should decide on a map eventually. Maybe a different map each round (i.e. Blood Harvest for round 1 and a different one after that round of eliminations.) Hopefully more versus maps will be out by then.

    MIZZOU TEAM IS CRAZY EPIC!

I also think we should get teams together ahead of time so that those teams can practice and such. Any real LAN (eg LANWAR) you register your team to play in the tournament. You don't do random teams when doing a pro-style tourn.

I agree that random teams are stupid as ****, and I completely support this tournament.

Yah, i was thinking about possibley having an event for TF2, L4D, and maybe UT where everyone organizes their own teams ahead of time so we can have some good pro competitions in addition to the standard randome tourneys we normally do.

Are you and your 3 friends coming to the Icrontic Expo in June?

I'll write an article for this event @ L4DT.com to get people in the know.

That would be awesome if we could attract pro grade players to the event. That usually happens because of hype and prizes.

Regardless I plan to attend the event.

I have this game, have only played single player so far. One of my daughters bought it for me for Christmas.

I mean, like, it's good, great visuals and all but the whole gameplay consists of.... killing zombies.

    And that's it.

    Perhaps it's time I tried multiplayer ;)

I vote we require teams to shout the opposing team's name before any match.

In which case, I nominate we change our name to be a rooster's crow, followed by 'RU-FI-OOOOOOH' as done by the Lost Boys in Hook. We've done it before in a crumpets match. It was a blast.

Alternatively, "My mother did WHAT on the internet?"

    You know... KQ style names.
