If only I win ....

So I looked at the tiger direct email today, $50 1TB HDDs are enticing but nothing else draws my attention till at the bottom I see a sweepstakes for an $11,500 computer. Might as well enter, I think. Then I look at the specs (get a napkin or possibly a towel, because your jaw will drop and there will be drool all over the place):

Killer PC Specs
  • CPU: Two (2) Intel Xeon 5680 Six-Core Processors
  • Motherboard: EVGA Classified SR2 Motherboard
  • Memory: 24GB Corsair Tri-Channel DDR3 Memory
  • Video Cards: Four (4) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 Video Cards
  • Hard Drive: Two (2) 2TB Hard Drives
  • Solid State Drive: 160GB Intel SSD Drive Solid State Drive
  • Optical Drive: BluRay/DVD Burner
  • Power Supply: EVGA Classified SR-2 Power Supply
  • Case: Custom One-of-a-Kind “Killers” Case
  • Monitors: (3) 3D Ready Acer Monitors
  • 3D Glasses: NVIDIA 3D Glasses
http://www.tigerdirect.com/sectors/sweepstakes/killers/index.asp

I hereby do solemnly swear that if I win this machine, I will overclock it and keep it on 24/7 to fold like I've never folding before. I will probably even watercool it. To all you random number generators out there (and in particular, the one that Tigerdirect will use to pick a winner): do the world a favor and let me fold on this beastly machine.

By my calculations, they undervalued it. I tried to find the cheapest or average price. I hope this table doesnt go crazy in formatting.

Your harddrive cost are double and you are assuming a 6x4GB kit when I would guess they would do 12x2GB since there are 12 slots on that board. Wow I bet it will overclock like none other with fully populated slots.

I received that email as well and have entered to win. I don't have any hope for winning but I figured it couldn't hurt to enter. They already have me on their mailing list.

I'll amend the HDDs to 150 per (found some WD greens) and the memory (look up the slots, and you are right about how they would use it) to

9430 is new total ... so k was right. <-- zomg amazing

They don't factor in properly cooling that much memory, the cards, and the CPUs. Fail
