They say $70 off. All I know is it's $45 cheaper than Newegg.

yea, Microcenter sometimes has great deals on CPU's. I got my i7 950 for $199 when it was $299 on newegg. Nice find gargoyle, are you getting one for your new build?

So, what's the difference between the 2500 and the 2500K? The specs appear to be the same. :?

The 2500 has a maximum overclock of 400MHz. The 2500K has no limit and can hit 5GHz.

If anyone needs me to buy one locally and ship it to them, I'm willing to.

    It is so very tempting.

I am also considering getting the 28" 1920x1200 monitor they've got there. They have a good return policy for exchanges for 30 days, so no worries about dead pixels. It's getting harder to find 1920x1200 screens, so it's hard to pass up.

Virtually any C-PVA or IPS panel 24"+ will be 1920x1200. Only TN panels are still in mass production at 1080p. I highly recommend the Samsung F2380 or the Dell U2410.

This i5 is about 30-60% faster than your i5.

That explains why affordable 1920x1200 screens are becoming less common. This big mamma jamma at MC is only $250. An UltraSharp would be much better, but those go for around $500.

Did you mean C-PVA and IPS will be 1920x1080? The TN's are the ones at 1200, no?

The Samsung you mention, it is 1080 not 1200.

No, I meant what I said, but I forgot that the F2380 was one of the rare 1080p C-PVA panels. Gorgeous display all the same.
