Next step? Phones geared towards Men. Porn search and Fast Food finder apps preinstalled. Bluetooth watch included that displays notifications on the face. Other available accessories include wireless vibrating ring and HDMI doc for media.

The PR nightmare that would entail releasing a phone pre-loaded with a calorie-counting app makes this rumor seem rather unlikely. Digi's idea seems much more plausible :P

I would use a calorie counting app to help me eat more.

I would so buy Digi's man phone D: Porn and fast food at my fingertips? Hells yeah. Throw in a camera app that x-rays clothing and I'm sold.

Slip an IR filter over your phone's camera and it can x-ray clothing just fine.

I thought cell phones were already centered towards females....

I haven't seen one with a leatherman or light-saber yet

In the most delicate of ways: I can see a huge target audience for this specific type of phone out here. I don't think midwestern women is what they were shooting for. I can't really see how someone could get that bent out of shape over the features, either.

Edit: Color choice is a huge issue with products, I'm betting that the green chosen gave more of a "calming" feel to the test group they gave the phones to. You could just as easily describe pink as "flashy, loud and attention grabbing" which would likely cause equal amounts of rage on the opposite end. We have a few product managers on the board, now, I'm sure they could clue us into more.

I would rock the fuck out of a green phone. A nice dock for an Android phone would be wicked, but other than those two things it's a solid "meh, who cares." If the hardware is good, it's not unsightly and it's carried by Sprint, I would think about it.

If they don't put an automatic tampon dispenser on it, it will fail miserably.

Except for the vibrate motor, that will be top notch.

It isn't condesending to put a calorie counter on a phone when most of the target market count or want to count calories.

What is more deteriorating to women is that they have so little confidence that they would take offense by this.

Personally, this sounds perfect for me and I'm a male. Less the shopping app.

You clearly haven't been asked "does this make me look fat?"

I can't tell you how many times I've been asked that question in it's various forms, and that is my point exactly. Females need to be more confident; they're hot and they don't need to ask silly questions or get offended by apps that support healthy lifestyles.

I definitely see what you are saying, but do not think that is how most people will react :tim:

I can almost guarantee after numerous test groups/markets were polled, it was requested as a feature of the phone.

    No, accountant ;)

Very aware of how the business process works, though.
