I am having trouble getting much out of a XP1600. It is locked and it is in an old KT7A mobo. Before I start ripping other stuff out (video card) in order to get more FSB I need to know if it is worth it. I am running at 140FSB, 1470mhz.
Where did yours run? at what voltage?
I have great cooling and a good psu.
tks

If it's an AGOIA, you can get a good 1830MHz out of it at 1.85v.

    If you're running at 140 x 12.5, that's still 1750, which is approximately Athlon XP 2100/2200 speeds. :D

On my old KX7-333R, my 1600 got up to 1830 at 1.85v, and many got similar clocks on boards that could handle it.

I think 1750 could be done on 1.75v.

Thrax is right on the money

    Your KT7A will PROBABLY run a Tbred 1700+ with no problems. I have a v1.1 and a v1.2 that both ran 1700+ ($50) easily.

You can set it to run 12.5x FSB150 = 1875mhz @ stock voltage

I ran mine at 180x10@1.85v on a KX7... what kind of memory are you using?

Unlocking isn't too hard... you could then run at a higher fsb and get some more power out of that sucker.
