Some people round teh webs have done analysis of Gearbox releases and based on past release schedules, we can expect to see Borderlands 2 sometime Q3/Q4 2012.

I hope we can shoot the damn robots this time! Always wanting to dance and be happy, I'll show you happy with a 4x rocket launcher!

The stated launch date is April 1, but you know how that goes.

(Though I think I'll wait until the fourth time the GoTY edition goes on sale so I can get everything for $7).

Hopefully the ending is less terrible and abrupt this time around.

    I never played Borderlands.

I loved Borderlands until I got past the first zone (after Sledge, I think). I thought it was brilliant, creative, new, and aesthetically amazing.

But after that, the music became less frequent and less exhilarating, and it never seemed to get over the start-of-the-game hill. I hope they take what was great about the first one and add some more variety.

I'm struggling to understand what it was about the first one that so many of you love. Granted, I haven't been able to play with friends (yet), but outside of the interesting art direction...what was it exactly that made the game such a big draw?

I found it somewhat repetitive and absolutely could not get over how horrendous and abrupt the ending of the game was. I'm wondering if my distaste for the game revolves more around that than anything else as a sort of "well, there's the cherry on top" moment.

I got it at the last steam sale and will be revisiting (whenever I can find the time) but I'm just curious what it is you all liked about the game. ...I don't mean to make it sound terrible, it just certainly didn't have the same draw on me as it did a few of you here.

the DLC's were better than the main game.

hell, even the credits song was better than the ending of the game

Took 4 of us some 5 hours of forwarding ports, using Hamachi, and various other bullshit to finally get in the same game together. My biggest wish is that they make a friend system that isn't completely useless for the first few months.

    I liked it.

Borderlands succeeds when you play with friends and have the DLC (excluding Mad Moxie). I loved the humour, visual style, and sheer insanity of the weapons.

I played a total of about 20min with friends and I still enjoy/enjoyed the game. I actually prefer playing solo to group play in games like this.

The Claptrap on is INSANE. Think of General Knox on roids.
