Already re-rolling to be a pure magic character. Decided I didn't care about stealth at all ^^

    All of the same things.

Ended up as a Wood Elf that swings a sword, ironically, because the game does not support archery+magic like Oblivion did. I was really hoping to create an Arcane Archer-style character. :( Sigh.

There are poisons you can apply to your weapons, they're pretty interesting and I think they can be brewed with Alchemy.

I also went Bosmer with Stealth/Daggers. One hitting people I sneak up on is SO fulfilling.

I rolled an Imperial with a sword in one hand and destruction magic in the other.

With a quick visit to the showracemenu command, my ails with my Bosmer are over. Angoth the aborted archer is out, Ti. Decius Triarius the Imperial Paladin is in. Hello, resto!

//EDIT: Yes, thanks to "I need a better name." He reminded me of the command from Oblivion, and it worked brilliantly.

Reports say that really screws with stats. Were you not very far in?

It does screw with stats, because it splits any stat points (health/magicka/stam) you've accumulated evenly amongst those three stats. I, however, was only level 5, so it's immaterial.

I picked a high elf fire mage. Not to sure what else I'm gonna use my perks on but it's a pretty kickass class choice so far. Magic is so much better in skyrim then oblivion.

So far I am playing with a High Elf concentrating in destruction and a little archery... there is a chance that I will quit that now that I have some ranged destruction attacks.

I believe my second character is going to be either Argonian or Dunmer. Those were my favorites in Morrowind.

Finished the main quest this morning. Level 29 Dark Elf Mage in custom smithed light armor.

Planning to start a new character. Probably argonian or kahjiit. Stealth, dual daggers, etc. Going to see how the game plays if you avoid all of the main quest. Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild here I come.

Hey, that sounds exactly like my character! Stealth is a blast in this game, have fun.

Is it just me or are the horses (looks more like ponies) just useless? I can probably run as fast at it, and sprint further without fatigueing. Most wasted money in the entire game especially considering:

*SPOILER* (mark white area, dunno how to make spoiler tag thing)
You get Shadowmere as part of the Brotherhood quests.

EDIT by Ryder: You use the spoiler tags.. {spoiler} {/spoiler} around your text.. replace { with square ones [

My Nord does nothing Nord like (Stealth, pickpocket, archery, one hand, destruction)

    except...

    KILL DRAGONS!

I lied, in a flight of fancy I rolled a Nord who's soul purpose in life is kicking ass by running in screaming.

Two Hand and Heavy Armor with some dabbling in Alchemy, Archery and Smithing.

My first play-through in these types of games is always a Stealth character named Phoenix. She'll be a dark-haired, plain-faced Imperial. Second play-through will be Cinder, the Breton Mage who hates the world. Final play-through will be as Ral, the noble knight who disdains the use of magic in combat and always chooses the most morally correct quest and dialog decisions, even at great disadvantage to himself.

In my head, Phoenix, Ral, and Cinder are siblings; members of the Manawaker family. They have another brother, Cecil, who only appears in games which have no class distinction or if I want a stealth character in a game which does not allow a female protagonist. (Another, even less frequently seen brother is Zed, the male mage.)

(I might be a little compulsive about this stuff...)

In Oblivion, I didn't actually beat the main quest-line until I played as Ral. Phoenix and Cinder both became overpowered long before I even made it to the third step in the main quest. Phoenix became so stealthy that she could go anywhere and do anything without ever being seen by anyone (a lonely existence), and Cinder eventually crafted herself a robe which restored her health, as a constant effect, more quickly than it was possible to be damaged. She could walk up to the most difficult enemies in the game and let them beat on her forever and she would never die (in experimentation, I was finally able to kill her with falling damage).

(In Fallout games, Phoenix is a stealthy still, but Cinder is a energy weapon specialist in light armor, and Ral is Gunslinger in heavy armor.)

I've rolled up Skyrim's Phoenix. She's having fun sneaking up on people, then hosing them with fire. Once she gets enough Sneak to do the 6x damage instead of just 2x, she'll probably start doing more stabbing.

I'm a High Elf pure mage for first play through ... I have a feeling I'm going to do way too many of the radiant quests. Also, I killed a chick in Solitude and took her house while her husband and child still lived there. I don't know that it will be much use to me with a 3000k bounty on my head from killing guards.

Stabby stabby is next, not sure what race I'll do, though being a Khajit sounds interesting.

This turned out to be stabby stabby for first play through.

I've settled on my role as a Conjurer/Archer. It's insane how powerful the summoned monsters can be. I don't even really have to do anything. I summon atronachs and draemora into a room and sit back and plink arrows.

I play a Breton that levels one hand, destruction, and heavy armor. Though all the thanksgiving lefsa I've been eating is making me want to play as a Nord.

So now that I've played three characters of three different races I have to report that the warrior class levels the fastest and is the most lucrative. I'm role playing as a warrior who believes that a honed weapon is second only to a honed body and I mine ore when I find it and make iron weapons for War Maiden's for cash. In only a few hours yesterday I made it to level 12 and I tear through bad guys like paper.
My stealth character gained levels pretty quickly but never felt as powerful as this sword and board Nord and the mage was excruciatingly slow and weak.
I'm glad I saved this dude for third because the others would have been painful to play with after him.
