more memory = more textures loaded, so that would help AFAIK, but this may be a case of optimal settings for that card. I can't find any sort of site like Nvidia's Optimize site.

You should also check your CPU usage, as BF3 is pretty intensive on that. Do you have dual screens? If so, you can get something like MSI Afterburner for monitoring GPU usage and then use task manager for CPU usage and see if one/both are getting maxed out.

If I remember correctly, Thrax stated that BF3's ultra settings will require crossfire setups. If it makes you feel better, I'm using a crossfire 5850 setup and ultra can become unplayable at times - certainly for online play.

The problem with Ultra is DiCE's implementation of multi-sample anti-aliasing. It looks great, but it's fucking devastating to performance.

Thankfully the game also has FXAA, which is the post-processing anti-aliasing option. Anyone running ultra should turn multi-sample AA off and leave post-AA on high. You'll get the same visual quality and significantly better performance.

    37% for CPU
99% for GPU is that bad??

99% for GPU isn't "bad", just means your settings are probably too high because you'll get stuttering. Do what Thrax says and try it again.

Your GPU is designed to be at full load. Anything less is wasted performance
However, that last 1% can be the difference between playable and unplayable. A lot can change very quickly in the 99th percentile.

FXAA is available in BF3. It's the "post-processing anti-aliasing" option. Set that to high, and turn the other anti-aliasing in the game off.

You will get the same quality and much better performance.

This PDF demonstrates what FXAA looks like: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10780260/Radeon/BF3_AA_Effects.pdf

If it doesn't look like this, you're not setting the options correctly.
