    If someone would write a folding client for pSeries, it would fold, and it would destroy all comers.

    The primary focus of the holey optochip is to facilitate inter-processor communications for cluster and supercomputing workloads. So if you had a decked-out, rack-sized 775, you could run F@H in SMP512 mode (128 cores, 4 threads per core), and a lot of the inter-processor lag points would be eliminated with the optochip.
