Free hard drive imaging software recommendations?

I want to make a disk image from an external USB enclosure and restore it to a new drive. In the past, I used (very happily) Acronis TrueImage 9. I still have my TrueImage 9 license, but it's incompatible with Windows 7 x64.
If there's a free program that does this, I'd appreciate a recommendation. I'd rather not spend the $30 to upgrade to the latest version of Acronis, but I will if I have no other choice.
Thanks!

Free Version has basic features.
It can also make an extended partition for Windows drives/partitions to be made in, and likes NTFS and other file systems just fine.
U.B.CD and Parted Magic are free.
Thanks! I'll try the other recommendations.
The above is how to step-by-step rebuild from a disk to a new disk. The file system sets will each be intact in the their new partitions.
