Howdy Boys!!!

And hello to all the Ladies!!

I know my mother is getting me a GameCube for Christmas this year, since its not even wrapped and sitting under the tree just taunting me.

I was wondering if any one you would be able to recommend some good games.:D

GameCube's best stuff is it's party games. 'Smash Bros. Melee' is outstanding, and so is 'Mario Party 4' (The only problem with Mario Party is that it's only fun when you have exactly four players).

If you want a cool single player game, there isn't much. 'Windwaker' was really neat, though some people had a problem with it's 'kiddy' graphis (though, if you don't like colorful, bubbly graphics, you should proly return the GC, ya?). I personaly didn't like 'Metroid' because the controls were really bad, and you can't customize them, but I've heard lots of people say that if you manage to get used to the controls then the game is really great.

And, if you're into really goofy stuff, pick up 'Animal Crossing'.

Wind Waker rules.... And believe it or not, if you can get past the weirdness and goofiness of it, Super Monkey Ball (1 and 2) are EXTREMELY fun games. Think marble madness brought into the 21st century.

I had a lot of fun with Starfox Adventures, but it was a bit easy. The graphics are amazing in that game, though.

Super Mario Sunshine is also really, really good.

Another really fun game that you wouldn't think of playing is Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg - Really kiddie graphics, bizarre japanese humor, but overall a challenging and fun game.

I'm with Prime on all of that, except 'Mario Sunshine'. Sunshine was so repetitive and so counter-intuitive, it was like taking five steps backward in game playability...

It was like playing 'Mario 64' Except it had better graphics, and really crapy level designs...

I love racing games and anything spooky.

What have you guys have heard about Tetris Worlds?

Eternal Darkness and Resident Evil 0 are pretty good spooky games.

And I am backing up smash bros and monkey ball 2 as EXCELLENT party games.

Mario Party 4/5 can be really fun party games too. But it requires people who look past its childish design to really have fun!

    And I also recommend:
-Animal Crossing: lots to do, look past the kiddyness and you will find a great game.
-Soul Caliber 2: One of the best fighting games around :D
    -SSX3: Excellent snowboarding game

I never really cared for sunshine...a huge disappoint after Mario 64. Just didn't feel like mario for some reason.

    Wrong-o, Prime :D

Tetris is always fun, and 'Tetris Worlds' is the party-game version... You can't ask for a more basic and replayable group game...

Ok, here we go. I'll tell you what games I liked for my "paperweight" lol. (Sorry, got my XBox and haven't touched it, nothing as of late I enjoyed)

    -Eternal Darkness (EXCELLENT)
-Resident Evil 0 (Good, haven't played the others on the system, but would assume them to be good)
    -Zelda Windwaker (Excellent)
    -Metroid Prime (Excellent)
    -Rogue Leader (Excellent)
-Super Smash Bros (Not my cup of tea, but was a good game. I sold mine back)
-Tony Hawk (All good, sold mine back, got sick of it)
-Mario Sunshine (Rented, didn't like for above reasons. 64 was way better. If you really want it, just get Windwaker first, its much better)
-Pikmin (Fun, but a rental, beat it in a night)
    -Monkey Ball (Fun party game)
-Splinter Cell (Haven't played it on this system, but really good game)
-Prince of Persia (Haven't played it, supposed to be excellent)
-Mario Kart (Haven't plapyed it, again supposed to be very good)

Also, pick up a Wavebird if you like wireless controllers, don't bother with any of the GC aftermarket controllers either, just buy the nintendo ones, the rest really suck IMHO (Pelican if you have to get one)

Sooooo, games you must buy IMO

    Windwaker
    Metroid
    Eternal Darkness
    Resident Evil 0
Smash Bros (IF you have some friends to do MP with)
    Wavebird Controller

//edit Oh yeah, the new F-Zero is supposed to be good too, but thats just things I've read, haven't played it.

    ;D

As if Mario Sunshine is any LESS repetitive than the side-scrolling Mario games were!

Not that I think it rocks either...

MArio Sunshine is sweet!! I love Mario Cart! I got the GC that came packed with 4 Zelda games and I havent been able to pry my g/f off of the controller. MoH Frontline was fun, I am going to pick up windwaker, Smash Bros was fun ONLY if there was more than 1 person. And get 4 wave birds over time!

Mario Sunshine was a blast. mainly due to the beautiful graphics.

Windwaker was horrible IMHO. There is no way to play this without a walkthrough book.

SSX3: best console game EVER! available on gamecube.

Viewtiful Joe is "OK" as well.

Hopefully they put out a Donky Kong country.

Man how could I forget Burnout 2!

My friends and I simply say "let's play Crash" - because that's all we ever do with Burnout 2.
