Or in the case of Photobucket, click on the HTML box to the right of the image and that will copy all the code you need. Just paste and post :D

OR upload to imgur.com, which is faster, permanent, and doesn't go down when your bandwidth goes dry like it does on Photobucket. Also has code you can just copy/paste.

I absolutely love Seiko's English product description for the SARB065:
Create an aura of adult cocktail design motifs. Mr. Shinobu Ishigaki collaboration model and bartender. So fond of the drink, enjoy the time. Time off to spend oneself gracefully appeared worthy of a new mechanical watch a grown man dress. The motif of Ishigaki bartender cocktail, with glittering clarity of the dial design, and directing the intelligence and playfulness. Design motifs "cocktail" according to each model "SWEET" "DRY" "COOL" We prepared three types.
Beautiful watch, keto! Seiko is so underrated sometimes.

I stole my dad's old watch off his dresser and took it into Stefan to have it gone over for Father's Day. He replaced the crystal, cleaned up the dial, hands, and numerals, and checked the movement. I had it identified over at WUS as an early 70's Sears-branded mechanical made by Jura, with a pin-lever Ronda 1223 wind-up movement. What sets it apart is the alarm.

Pin-lever movements are pretty rare these days. Very fragile. Fun!

@marushka: Looks vaguely Movado-ish. What is it, Laura?
  • MarushkaMarushka cambridge, ma Icrontian
    movado!
  • ThraxThrax 🐌 Austin, TX Icrontian
Ah, then it's inspired by the 1947 Movado museum watch. :) Lovely and iconic.

I did always love the look of Movado. I'm a fan of their simplicity. I just wish they were a little more practical for telling time. But then, that's not what the Museum versions are for.

you can tell the difference between professional watch publicity shots and our own icrontic shots for many reasons, but interestingly the professional shots are all of watches set to 10:09 or 10:10. Is that some sort of industry standard? I even see a lot at 10:10 and 36 seconds on google image. crazy!
  • AlexDeGruvenAlexDeGruven Wut? Meechigan Icrontian
Last I read it was because it made the watch face look as though it's smiling.

yes. Promo shots of watches are almost always shown at approx 10:10. Presumably it shows off the text on the watch face better, focusing the eye on the brand name which is typically below the 12.

I don't know why I find it creepy. Like its from a Dan Brown book. Something HAPPENS at 10:09 and 36 seconds that all watchmakers know about. you will find me in my basement 2 weeks from now with newspaper clippings and red yarn connecting all the conspiracies i see.
