This is incredibly disappointing, especially of a brand that markets themselves the way they do.

Good old Twinings, though. Pulling through like always.

lol. Celestial Seasonings. The Budweiser of tea.

I think Bigalow might be the Budweiser of tea. Celestial Seasonings was never a brand for serious tea drinkers by any means, but it wouldn't have been so bad for a Cup of Lies company if they weren't poisoning their consumers.

I'll have to pass this article along to the 2 people in my company who used to work for Hain Celestial.

Yeah, how dare they?! ...More like... "Max-oxidant Blood Agent Orange" and "Sleepytime Kids Goodnight (Forever) Grape". :orange:

Oh good, Twinings was the only tea brand I tried before.

I really liked Sleepy Time too, lucky I went the dropped 30 bucks on 6 ounces of tea at Teavana for the good shit (at least that is the way they made it seem)

Hm. Teavana isn't awesome, but it's better than some other brands. Honestly, I'm a tad surprised to hear this about Celestial Seasonings. They paint themselves as earth loving hippies.

Twinings is an awesome, quality, English brand that's been around since before the Boston Tea Party. It's a solid choice any day of the week.

@Teramona I really liked the teavana silver needle and strawberry lemonade I told you about before. Why aren't they awesome?
  • TeramonaTeramona Consulting Tea Specialist Best Coast! Icrontian
Teavana is generally more expensive than what it's worth. It's not the highest quality, and the flavors tend to be a bit muddled. Again, it's not terrible, but it's not great. I'd definitely drink it if it were around.

Harney and Sons is another pretty good choice, I think. Pretty sure they've been around for quite a long time, as well.

Their Earl Greyer is also awesome. Bit pricey for me though unless I can find it on sale

I usually go to Sweet Tomato's and drink a bunch (it's great as an iced tea as well) and then possibly take some home with me. One of my favorite German restaurants down here serves that as their iced tea and that's what got me hooked on it.

My favorite hot tea is earl grey, but I prefer Luzianne iced tea. I also drink Celestial Seasonings sleepytime tea. Maybe I can find a different brand of sleepytime tea...

Try brewing the iced tea including a couple bags of the earl grey. You will not be disappoint.

Also, Teavana's tea is okay. Teavana's accessories are pretty neat.

Probably available in other designs from other places for more reasonable prices, but I use this every day so well worth the $whateveritcost.

Aside from their cinnamon and peppermint Celestial Seasonings sucks, I stick always to either Earl Grey or Green from Twinings and on occasion a mixture of orange tea and hot chocolate.

A french press will get the same results. It's much easier to keep clean.

Yeah, I have a tea press. It's pretty amazing. You might even say it's... tepressing. Except good.

Actually, this thing has been really easy to clean. I've never messed with a french press, but what I've seen looks like they wouldn't strain out the leaves nearly as well.
  • If anyone out there has a Keurig, you can just get one of these :
    http://www.birdpick.com/accessories/tea-pots/madeline-glass-pot.html
    1. Put tea in pot
    2. Turn on Keurig to fill pot with hot water
    3. Turn off Keurig, let tea brew

That's my lazy arse way of making tea, works great.
  • midgamidga "There's so much hot dog in Rome" ~digi (> ^.(> O_o)> Icrontian
Keurigs make me want to burn things down.
  • Is it just cool to hate Keurigs around here? It's an electric kettle for making hot beverages.
  • midgamidga "There's so much hot dog in Rome" ~digi (> ^.(> O_o)> Icrontian
I have no idea what other people think about them around here. I know there are a couple in my office, and I see them elsewhere, and all I can think about is paying about a dollar for each little cup thing, and then having a little plastic cup thing to throw away every time. There are accessories, like you mentioned, that eliminate this waste, but in that case I still don't see the point of having one in the first place if you're not using their special little cup things. There are plenty of single-cup methods that cost less and don't encourage the sort of consumption that Keurig does.
