Has anyone played this game yet? I've had so much fun with it in the past two days!

The game looked fun, but I couldn't convince myself that it was worth 30 dollars of fun

That's what I kinda thought at first, then I decided to buy it. I have over 20 hours put on it, way worth the $30 in my opinion.

Bought it on alpha launch, played it at Eurogamer last year but I've never actually installed it on my own PC...

If it goes on sale I will probably pick it up. What have you enjoyed so far and what still needs work?

There is ton of content in the game so far. You can pretty much design any type of prison you want. A nice low sec cozy prison or a super secured high sec prison where your prisoners will never see day light again. Each of the prisoners has a little bio to them, which I really like, it shows what crimes they committed, how many years they're serving, family, all that stuff. Prisoners can escape, attack staff members, damage items, and have contraband, but the thing that sucks is that there's only two punishments, solitary and lockdown. There are tons of objects in the game, I think the prison labor is a really cool thing. It lets you make more money off each prisoner in the workshop, prisoners also can do jobs like cooking, cleaning, and laundry.

There are still a lot of glitches in the game, such as, if a prisoner is caught trying to escape they guards will handcuff him but will not escort him to solitary for a long time. He'll be just left outside. Building in this game can get difficult too, I found that a lot of times builders won't build/install stuff if I have it in my storage. Say I have some wire I need to install and I have it in my storage, you can't use that wire, you'll have to buy new wire in order to install it.

There's a lot of glitches but it was totally worth buying.

I picked it up pretty early in Alpha. Played it for a while but haven't revisited it lately. That said, even back then it was an amusing time suck (despite the fact that it was impossible to get ahead in the game at that point). Highly recommend it. Introversion Software makes great games (Uplink, Darwinia, Multiwinia, Defcon) and I trust this one will be no different once it is complete.

I love this game! Totally worth the $30. The worst part is the initial build. Also the money limits. It became instantly more fun once I 'gifted' myself $300,000.

I find the concept of a prison simulator far more disturbing than a first-person shooter.
