  • Company anniversary party was the other night. At the bartenders suggestion, I drank Ciroc Red Berry and cranberry all night. It was a good decision. That shit was delicious. Also, that same bartender apparently runs her own bar and is so dedicated to the craft that she makes her own bitters (multiple different kinds). I must go there.

I'm a big fan of Ciroc. not sure if it's cool to hate Ciroc or not, but I love the stuff. The regular Ciroc drinks wonderfully neat if you're into sipping spirits. It's got an awesome grape taste to it and it doesn't bite too hard.

In San Diego. From a growler. That I got at the Stone brewery earlier today.

This beer is for REAL, yo. a 13% Imperial stout made with pecans. It is a beastly dark black with a thin, dark brown head. Sweet notes on the nose. The up front tastes are all very sweet - there's a nuttiness to it, followed by deep malt and nice roasted and bourbon notes. Finishes pretty smooth considering the ABV, and the sweetness lingers. Unreal. This beer seriously kicks ass, and it'll probably age extremely well.

You should bring your other LA Icrontic friends along next time!

Aw, come on man, that was a work trip! Otherwise you know I'm game!

In fact, Firestone Walker has barrelworks, a tasting room where you can have their rare barrel aged beers from tap about 1.5 hours from my apartment in Buellton, CA. I want to go, and you should come with me.

Nothing exotic. These are long-time favorites and current most often purchased. I drink many beers, but Wild Turkey is about it for whiskey.

Found out the LCBO delisting is purely due to lack of adequate supply. They recently brought back Wytchwood (Hobgoblin, Crop Circles, Wytchcraft, etc.) and Nickelbrook Maple Porter. I'm so happy right now.

So tonight I popped open one of these.

Normally I love Wytchwood's brews but this is just WAY too hoppy for me (I can't even stand a little hoppy)

Basically it's a blonde beer, triple hopped.

So uh. Booze and stuff, I guess.

What sweet vermouth are you guys using, when you're using vermouth, for your manhattans and stuff?

This is phenomenal. If you like Balvenie's Double Wood, this is worth checking out. Not as easily go-to as the Double Wood at the higher price point, but better to appreciate in my opinion.

    Glenfiddich 12.

I need a good drink for the MLP season 4 premiere.

@Guppy I would say that if you're going for a pony themed drink, cider is the way to go I'd say. (I know the premiere has already aired, but you never get enough dirnking and ponies!)
Then again, you could always try to drink something that matches the mane 6.

What I think they should be:

    Pinkie Pie (Pink panther):
    4cl Vodka
    2cl liquor 43
    1cl Grenadin
Milk (Add to your own taste)
    image

    Rarity (White russian):
    6cl vodka
    2cl Kahlua
    Milk
    image

    Rainbow Dash (Polarbear):
    4cl Vodka
    2cl blue curacao
    Fruit soda
    image

    Applejack (Xanté hot apple):
    6cl Xanté
    Orange juice
Put a cinnamon stick in there to stir it around and it's delicious!
    image

    Fluttershy (Spanish bomb):
    4cl Vodka
    2cl liquor 43
    Orange juice
    Milk
(Don't forget to shake this one)
    image

    Twilight Sparkle (Vanilla Currant):
    4cl vanilla vodka
    2cl sourz blackcurrant
    Sprite
    Lime
    image

I based all this on the colour of the drink, but hell, I have tasted them all and I find them to fit quite well (Except maybe rarity... She should have marshmallows in there, but hey, just throw them in anyway!).

Equal part Whisky (Canadian club in this case, but can be done with any whisky/whiskey)
    and Pure Maple Syrup.
mix in a bottle and let sit in the fridge for a while. i put it in a Grolsch bottle since the swingtop seals it perfectly, but a mason jar or the actual whisky bottle will do it.
pour on the rocks, in coffee, on crepes, wherever you feel like.
