Not pushing any one direction doesn't seem to be the key, just don't push that direction unless you have a full row keeping your "highest" tile in the corner.

I played this once and lost after like 15 seconds of random button pushing, closed the tab and haven't gone back. Glad you're having fun with it though.

TIL If you copy a the url while a game is in progress and paste it in a new tab it duplicates it.
The duplication only works for a game until you lose. Then copying a tab will start a new game.
Also it feels like cheating.
