Yay! I wasn't the first to die!
I am very impressed with the teamwork of the players we had on Sunday night. We worked together to get full iron for everyone, enchantments and potion brewing. The search through the nether was rough but I found a Nether Fortress and was able to get the blaze rods needed to make our eye of enders and start brewing. I got over confident as NateDogg and I went after some more blaze rods for strength potions, didn't see a wither skele sneak up behind me and he embarrassed me in front of all my friends 3 shotted me before I even realized what was happening.
Used my magic to respawn as a ghost to hop back on and try to fearlessly lead from the afterlife.
As of Monday DigiKid reported we were at 2 ender pearls. If we can get to 10 by a reasonable time tonight then I see no reason the dragon should not be slain tonight. In the spirit of this Hardcore, I will not be joining the fight but will be there in spirit.
If there is more interest in starting fresh again, I am more than happy to do that also.
To explain the 10 Ender pearls, this is a guesstimate on my part. Unless extremely lucky, we will probably lose a couple on the search for the stronghold. Once we find the stronghold/ender portal we will need between 1 and 12 eye of ender to activate the portal. From what I have seen it is usually between 4 and 6.
When are you guys starting again?

So we reset and started playing...
DigiKid was running around at night without armor... Skele got 'er
NateDog, PirateNinja and I ventured into a ravine. We found Diamonds. Only I emerged alive. Surprise creeper butt sex for both of them.
Creeperbane and I were looking for a fortress in the nether, I hopped down a ledge I know I could have survived... but didn't.
Much death.
I'mma go get some Pizza. Then I'mma reset this server and kill a dragon. Come adventure with me.
Made good progress tonight, still need a crap ton more pearls, lost DigiKid, but found the stronghold. I also pulled my first all night gaming session, glad to have spent it with y'all.
Hardcore Mk III
@Creeperbane2 @DigiKid and I rocked it last night.
"Survival Island" style spawn. Enough trees to at least start a farm.
Mine. Ironed up.
Diamonds! Enchantments begin.
Nether adventure, found a Nether Fortress and picked up a hand full of blaze rod.
Creeperbane home brews up so potions for us.
Creeperbane ventured out and found mainland, we join him for adventure.
Found a village and turned it into our Ender-hunting base, also potatoes.
In about 5 in game days we harvested 6 enter pearls.
As a group we decide to find the Stonghold with those.
Got unlucky and lost two pearls on the way but found the Stronghold and portal room.
11 eyes to activate the protal! bah! Placed the 4 we had left.
We search the Stronghold for more pearls, Creeperbane found 1.
Digikid falls through a hole in the library and burns to death.
Not enough steam in Creeperbane (5am!) and I (2am), we disconnect for the night.
The Dragon awaits, just 6 ender pearls stand in our way.
Third time's the charm, the dragon lies dead and we are victorious!

So now the question stands, want to leave the map up and aim for a hardcore wither fight?
