Using a new Microsoft graphics framework called DXR, on NVIDIA Volta GPUs, with Unreal Engine. Absurd.

    To @Thrax point - https://www.tweaktown.com/news/61295/60-000-worth-gpus-power-unreal-engine-ray-tracing-demo/index.html

60K worth of GPU power there. By time this happens, I'll likely have arthritis so bad that I won't be able to play it.

It is an incredible demo though.

Imagine a situation where everyone has gigabit internet soon and for a fee a user could stream this kind of content using one of AMD's / Nvidia's server farms? Seems impractical for you to own all that GPU power, but if it's 60K now, maybe in five years it's 20K of product to get this kind of result, still impractical to own, but to rent and stream?? Who knows? Man can dream.
