Wow. I mean, I've been on web-autopilot before, but that's ridiculous. I'm actually looking for a word stronger than ridiculous, but the first Google result wasn't much help in the 0.6 seconds I spent looking at it.
I'd probably find that thread funnier if I didn't have to deal with that level of retardedness at work every day. When you tell someone to go do "domain.com" they immediately assume you mean "Type it into Google and click the first sponsored link" ARGH.

This is exactly what my students do. Unlike chrisWhite (hopefully), they don't even look at the results before clicking. I want to know who is teaching people to do this. Is this something they learn in highschool now?

My Googlefoo is pretty good, I didn't use to do that very often but with the unified search and URL bar in Chrome I just find myself typing in the name and hitting enter.
I can't think of the last time I clicked on a sponsored link though.
Hey... don't diss the sponsored links, they're helpful sometimes! Really though, this would make my brain hurt if it weren't for the fact that I've seen worse.

To many people Google is the internet.
I guess this is what happens when you release it from being for college students only and start putting applications and web games inside it.
