This is a corner of our second large base, where we've tried organizing things. This corner makes iron and steel into some medium level finished goods like heavy steel frames.

Eventually, we ran out of iron, so we made a remote base that mines, and smelts down the iron into something more usuable, and then sends it back on 6 fully loaded conveyor belts. Its a lot of iron, and we probably should have build a monorail to handle this. The scale of this iron production is by far the biggest we've done before.

Here is the back side showing 1 of the 6 mines that powers the remote iron base. Each mine needs 8 smelters to process all the iron at 30 iron ingots per minute. We organized each into a floor... its huge.

Here you see us converting the ugly alien world into something more aesthetically pleasing and organized.

In general, for early release game, its pretty well thought out. There are some bugs (like the hyper tubes for transport being sort of buggy) but overall, I've been enjoying throwing time at this monster of a game.

I'm going to lay out game times along with keeping a list of planned/available games here. I'll also be adding the nights to the Icrontic Calendar. I'll do my best to run games at different times and days throughout the year here so if you can't make a night, no problem, hopefully the next one. This also means this may overlap with other weekly get togethers but again, no problem, play what you want. Some games will be Free to Play but not sticking to a strict F2P list.

Please feel free to participate at any level. If you want to just hang out with us on Discord, but not join in that night's game, please do. Pop in to just say "Hi" or stay longer than planned to continue the fun. Will be great to have you anytime. In order to take part in games during BGRTR, there are two things you must do:

1. Create an account on BGA if you do not already have one. https://boardgamearena.com/ This is free; you do not need to purchase a Premium membership unless you want to have the ability to host certain Premium-tier games.
2. Send a request to Colgere either on Discord or the forum requesting an invite to the Mitey Worriers group if you are not already a member. This is how we organize our game setups.

Below is the initial schedule for BGRTR, along with the inital game that I'll be hosting at the start time. Note, the game listed will only be the first game that I am hosting to start the night out with and that I expect to start different games throughout each session. Also, nothing prevents anyone else from starting a game on BGA that they want to play unless you try to start a Premium-tier game as a non-Premium BGA member. While I've scheduled the events initially on Wednesdays, I have made two different time slots on alternating weeks as I'll evaluate the feedback to this event after the first four weeks and can move the days/times to better suit as many people as possible if needed. Keep in mind that this event may overlap with other weekly Icrontic events but that's not an issue. Do what you want.

Even if you don't wish to play, feel free to hop into chat and say hi, or you can spectate ongoing games in BGA (it has a feature to allow this). On Discord we will probably be in the Meeple Pyramid channel unless it conflicts with another event; in which case we'll adjust accordingly.

That was my co-worker upon the news that Nintendo has announced their next console, codenamed "NX".

Time to let the speculation begin!

We were discussing what the NX could be or look like. If I had to guess, I would summarize it as "multiplayer tablet" - tablet-style (or 2DS style) pads that are full consoles but can also be docked for your big-screen gaming. Whatever it is, it will definitely support at least four players.

4 teams have qualified so far:

• Evil Geniuses (EG)
• Virtus.Pro (VP)
• Invictus Gaming (IG)
• Team Secret

There are 14 spots remaining, so lots of Dota to be played to see who can get into the big one for these pros. Here are the current Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) standings. The top 12 teams in the DPC qualify for the International. The remaining 6 spots will be determined by regional qualifiers, those are last chance tournaments where the winners go, everyone else stays home.

Currently the WePlay AniMajor in Kiev is happening and providing teams with the ability to earn additional points to qualify for The International. Majors are invite tournaments that involve teams from around the world.

Wild Card matches have already started, as teams jockey for position and attempt to get as many points as they can. I'd love to watch games with other Icrontians, but the schedule for these games can be odd as they happen in local time (Kiev in this case, so matches are happening right as I'm typing this).

If live match viewing can work, I'd love to do it. If not I'd love to get together and watch some game VODs/Replays. I'm planning to do a little bit of casting to provide context for folks who don't know the game, so any additional help there would be welcome!

You don't have to play Dota 2 to enjoy this, its as exciting as a sporting event to me and can come with its own in jokes all its own. Join me, reply here, lets watch some Doters.

Each player will start out a 50,000 chip (c) stack at the beginning of the season. Your chips will be tracked in a Google spreadsheet which will track all additions and subtractions from your totals. Participation chips will be given out for each event. Details for each event will be listed here and spammed to discord.

Standard Events will be Texas Hold 'Em, minimum 2 hours with 25c small blind / 50c big blinds. You do not have to bring your entire stack into the game but there will be a minimum amount to bring in along with a minimum amount of play time to earn the participation chips. Participation bonuses will be added to player stacks at the end of each event.

If a player runs out of chips at a table, this will count as them getting up from the table. If they wish to rejoin, they will be put at the end of the wait list and anyone at the beginning of the wait list will be prioritized for the seat. If a player runs out of chips during the season (or their season stack is lower than 10,000c), they can borrow up to 10,000c at the beginning of each event and this will count as a negative in their stack if they do not play it back.

The player with the biggest stack at the end of the season will be given a prize (to be determined)

This is a free website, just click and go. When you join the table (link for event tables will be posted at the beginning of each event) you enter in your name and starting stack. You must use a name that is generally recognizable to others (such as your forum or Discord name). The starting stack that you enter will be verified by me before you are allowed to sit down.

Notes: This is designed as an introductory event. If you bring 10k and play for an hour, you guarantee to at least break even with the Participation bonus at the end of the night.

There is a limit of 10 spots at a table. Reservations will be taken from the time of the announcement until the end of the event. Any players over 10 will be considered a wait list and invited to sit in once a spot opens.

Helpful notes:

• You can sit down at any time the table is open (and there is a spot open)
• You do not have to put all your money on the table. There is a minimum to qualify for the event bonus but you can bring in as little or as much as you want whenever you sit down. There are strategies for both small stacks (mitigate loss) and large stacks (scare players with your stonks).
• You do not have to participate in all events. There are participation bonuses for each event but there is no penalty for skipping any.
• You can leave at any time. Lost or Made enough for the night? Step away and prepare for the next event. Again while there is a minimum play time to gain the event bonus, there is no penalty for leaving at any time.
• Say what you want, or nothing at all. We'll be hanging out in Discord but you don't have to say anything. Once you are comfortable with the flow, you don't even have to if you don't want to. At a casino table it is not uncommon to see straight faced players with sunglasses on. This is so they are the same no matter what their hand is. Tells are huge in in-person poker. There is the option to stream yourself at the poker table, this is not necessary for most events (Including event #1) but there will likely be at least one video mandatory event.

Has anyone else kind of hit the middle age gaming burnout? I still enjoy casual games. I have a Pac Man and Galaga Arcade 1up Machine and I still enjoy fooling around on those a bit. I do occasionally fire up Street Fighter V on the PS4 but what I'm actually starting to wonder is if my life would be more fulfilling if I just let it go, treat it as sort of a past identity.
It's a crazy thing we do, we all have our "backlogs of shame" and they kind of nag at you, like man, I bought that, I should like really play it... And it's not just that you lack the time, you just mentally have kind of gotten to the point where expelling the extra grey matter to play a complex 3D game just isn't that appealing anymore.

It's a weird thing, I almost want to go to gamestop, drop off all the crap I don't play anymore, get a gift card, give it to my kid who still plays a tiny bit, sell my gaming PC, buy a friggin mac or something and just let it go. It's so hard to do though. Like, it feels like a huge commitment to just say, okay, this is me now, accept it. That cool game is coming out, it looks amazing, but honestly, I'm not going to play it, why hold onto it any further.

So lets lay it all out.
The Rules

• Drivers will pick one GT3 car to race the whole series. So pick wisely.
• Each race will have a 30 minute qualifying session
• Each race will be 15 laps
• A mandatory pit stop will be in place each race
• Gentleman's agreement to do a tire swap during the pit
• All driving aids will be allowed except the race line
• All races will be in dry weather with the time set to 1pm and date set to the real world date. (This should only change the air and track temps to add variation to the races)
• Track limits will not be enforced by the game, but please try to avoid intentional out of bounds that ruin the spirit of the race
• The Audi R8 is extremely OP. I'm not going to tell you to not race in it, but I'd love to see everyone in something other than the easy mode car.

Here how the points will work. 1st place will get a number of points equal to the number of drivers who sign up. If we get 8 drivers, a first place win will net you 8 points. Second place 7, so on and so forth. If a driver misses a week the points awarded at the end of the race will not change, the driver who misses a week will just receive the last place point allotment of 1. This prevents the point totals from needing adjustments for if someone can't make a race. If two drivers miss a week, both will only get 1 point and the normal allotment of points from 1st place down stay the same.

Oh? You are an experienced trainer you say? Then while you're here I have a task for you. I've received information about a tournament which culminates with a gathering in the town of Brooded Wig in the Detrollian Region. Have you been there?

The "Icrontic Masters" they call it. Well I'm much too busy to participate myself but I feel there is much to learn in these events. Yes, I think you will be perfect. Put together a team and go battle The Traveling Trainer and report back your experience. Anything you gain from the tournament is yours, I hear there are badges, as long as you share any knowledge gained with me. Make sure to check back here before you just go throwing your creatures into the ring. I can help with any advice putting your team together. Focusing on type advantages will help overcome any size or power limitations you may have. The Traveling Trainer is a Pokemon Master and defeating him will not be easy.

Based on the information I was able to gather about this tournament, The Traveling Trainer will take challengers on Saturdays at a different gym each month for ten months. You can only challenge him once each Saturday but as many times each month as there are Saturdays. You need to focus on beating him at least once at each gym. I will use my connections in the community to find out what Pokemon The Traveling Trainer will be using at each gym. He will have six Pokemon to choose his team of three from for each battle. You have no restrictions on Pokemon you can use so together we should be able to craft a strong team for you to take into battle.

Here is the information I was able to find out about The Traveling Trainer's first stop. It will be an island gym and The Traveling Trainer will be focusing on Water Pokemon. August 1st will be your first opportunity and that is coming up quick. Use your time, and your Pokemon, wisely trainer!

What is a Zero to Hero Campaign?
Each player starts with level 0 characters on Wednesday for the Gauntlet. The character that makes it out of the Gauntlet on Wednesday advances to 1st level for Thursday. Then advances again to 5th level on Friday, 10th level on Saturday, and 15th level on Sunday.

What is a Gauntlet?
Instead of crafting the character you most want to play and playing them, the Gauntlet leaves your character up to the wicked hands of Fate. Each player rolls up 10 level 0 characters and puts them through a deadly Ninja Warrior style course. The first character of a player to survive is your character for the campaign.

I mean, 16 hours of D&D over four days is WAY too much. Can't I just drop in for one night?
Yep! The campaign can have up to 8 players each night. returning players get dibs. But if we don't have eight players from Gauntlet, there will be the remaining spots open to just drop in and play for a night.

My Switch has been a big part of that; the Switch library is massive, and with engines like Unity (ahem) making it really easy for devs to write a game and deploy it on multiple platforms, the Switch has become my preferred platform for new game purchases. When a new interesting game under $20 comes out, and it exists on both platforms, I will always go for the Switch version instead.

That said, I'm currently playing:

• My Time at Portia (Switch) - a bit buggy, but really really charming and I can't stop playing it. Crafting, relationship building, exploring, fighting, upgrading... it's a bit of RPG, a bit of Minecraft, a bit of Stardew Valley, all cute, all fun.
• Stardew Valley (PC) - I finally started playing it after having it sit in my library for years. I'm not far yet, but it's fun. Maybe playing it after Portia was a bad idea, cause I find myself just wishing it was Portia, but it definitely has its moments
• Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Switch) - Duh.
• Township (Mobile) - running a little town, farming, crafting, and transit stuff. Mini-games. Great time waster. There's an Icrontic guild of sorts that's pretty active, so that's fun
• Adventure Communist (Mobile) - idle game set in a Soviet paradise
• Zen Idle (Mobile) - ultra minimalist gravity-based ball-drop idle game
• Empires & Puzzles (Mobile) - I don't know why I play it except that I'm invested in helping my guild kill monsters, and I don't want to let them down since I'm one of the top members. It's a match-3 game.
• Journey (PS4) - incredibly beautiful, short, poignant, emotive. Just a wonderful experience
• ICRONTIC TF2. It's still so goddamn fun. 12.5 years of this shit. Jesus.
