A proposal for ICHQ
For those who inhabit ICHQ:
I'm going to a concert at the Fillmore in Detroit. Dream Theater and Opeth with the Progressive Nation 2008 tour. I can't wait. Said concert is next week on the 14th.
I'm going solo to this show. I was planning to meet a friend that lives near Detroit, but he backed out due to money. I won't back out from this show, these are my two favorite bands together in one concert.
I'm driving straight from home to the Fillmore the day of. I'll probably leave my house at 2pm and get there at around 5ish. The show starts at 6 and probably goes well into the night. (we're talking about two bands that have an average song length of 9 minutes, Dream Theater with one song that's 45 minutes long).
Now, I may drive straight home after the concert. I have the following day off from work, so I don't have to. But if I'm up to it, I'll just go home and call it a night. That's how I typically like to do it. But more than likely I'm going to be exhausted after this show, and I probably won't be feeling a 3 hour drive.
Any chance I could crash at ICHQ if I need to? It's only about 20 mins north from the theater. I'm not a very imposing individual, I'll need a couch and that will pretty much do it. And possibly cereal in the morning.
But again, this will probably be a game time decision based on how I'm feeling after the show. What do you guys say?

No it doesn't. ICHQ is a flophouse. It's like a free hotel for any and all IC members. Absolutely yes you can stay.
In fact, I insist on it. You're not allowed to drive that close to ICHQ and NOT stop in. It's against the charter you agreed to when you signed up.
The Fillmore is about 15 minutes from ICHQ. Srsly. No excuses. You're stopping by.
Once you have visited once, you tend to want to go back again.. and again.. and again... and again... and again... ;D
OR NOT AT ALL.
My ticket is general admission floor standing room only, so the sooner I get there the better. The ticket says ""WED MAY 14 2008 DRS 6PM " So I assume that's doors opening at 6 pm. I'll probably try to be there at least a half hour before doors open. No clue how late the show is going to be, but it'll be melt my face awesome.
I may stop by ICHQ before going to the Fillmore IF I decide to bring my laptop. I don't know yet if I'm going to bring it, but if I do I'd rather not keep it in my truck in downtown Detroit while I'm at a concert for hours. I'll let you guys know.
What is the parking situation like at the filmore? Should I bring money for parking? Is there a garage near, or will I use the lot across the street?
After the show, over to ICHQ for the night. I'll head out kind of early the next day, but not too early. I've got to get some work done before the madness that is Friday and Saturday. I've got to be at a wedding in Illinois. What a week.
I know nothing about the Fillmore though, sorry.
The Fillmore is right across the street from Comerica Park (detroit tigers) so parking is always expensive. Worst case scenario: $20 for parking.
There is a structure around the corner from Campus Martius that is $8 usually.
Excuse me?
NO. NO. N O.
NO.
Not at ALL.
negative.
... but 3 people in a truck with PCs and bikes may not work. I may consider that, Prime.
Cut that filthy rass'ness offa my head
