1x DD cylindrical res (or a bay/dual bay or fillport res ... question below. prices from $38-80

Various fittings for attaching hoses to blocks/res/pump and all that has to match. details can be worked out later, but I'm thinking 1/2" or 3/8" OD with compression fittings. I don't have any reason to get the quick release stuff as long as I set up system to be drained easily.

General comments: I may change out fans in the case for quieter ones, but I need to look into it more. I think there would only be 1-2 fans anyways (side panel and rear) due to using 1-2 rads in the case. If I only used a single rad, I'm thinking I'd need to have 2 fans in front, running slowly, but will definitely like advice in this regard.


Questions:
Is RAM total is overkill? Could I drop to 4x2GB and be okay for bigadv folding?

Is the single 420 res enough for cooling w/ moderate overclocking via the tear custom BIOS? Most of the threads I looked at on various sites had a 360 in the front and 360 in the top, but I'm assuming those people are also cooling GPU(s). That kills the HDD space which I would need to replace my current folding/storage server/FTP box. In the same vein, I'm not entirely sure what the differences are between the three rads I listed besides the first one using 140mm fans (and the case is supposed to have room for a rad and 140mm fans in the top alone).

Does 950W sound like enough for the purposes stated? Assume no GPU folding, but if I have enough room for one, I could play with GPU3 via WINE and that would be nice.

I have almost no knowledge of water cooling outside of what I've read here and elsewhere, so please say "that is silly" or "that works". Resevoir vs t line is something I don't know pro/con for.

There is a point in these instructions where it branches depending on whether the processor has Intel’s XD. Since I cannot start Windows XP I do not have a way for Windows XP to tell me if my processor has this. All I have is the Recovery Console. Is there a way I can determine if my processor has Intel's XD bit using only Recovery Console, or any of the Linux Live OS disks?

I have a RAID disk pair that mirror each other. These show up as two different disks in the Recovery Console. Should the above repair procedure be done on both of them?

The DISKPART command shows that, although these two disks have always been in a RAID configuration, one of them has more free space than the other. C: has 103236MB free and D: has 109119 MB free. Is this a sign that the disk mirroring is out of sync? As the second part of my commitment to getting fit, yesterday I completed my first ever 5k, the Heart Throb 5k. Obviously, since both Marysia and I are quite out of shape, we were at the far back of the pack (though not the last people to finish at least). It was a bit of a struggle and I'm definitely feeling it today, but it was nice just to finish it. My goal on this front is to get in good enough shape to compete in Run For Your Lives, the zombie 5K. This is obviously going to take some time (I'll be shocked if I'm able to do this by the later 2013 dates), but hey, that's what long-term goals are supposed to be, right?

Just thought I would post here to keep myself accountable... hopefully I'll be updating this thread from time to time with accomplishments.

The League of Extraordinary Icrontians is returning for a second season!

The League, if you're not familiar, is a weekly Team Fortress 2 game with Icrontians old and new, pro and noob. Every Tuesday night at 10pm EST we will gather on rad.icrontic.com and play the night away (some nights, the LOEI have played until 3am).

For the second season, we will be announcing participation badges as well as special event badges for those of you who like to buff up your Icrontic user profiles (aka achievement whores).

We'll have a casual, unofficial inaugural run tonight at 10pm EST just to get the band back together, and the first official League session will be next week, the 10th, at 10pm EST.

What: Camping (Tents, fire, food, fire, drinks, fire, rain (if our previous trips are any indication there will be a random Monsoon)

When: Memorial Day Weekend (Friday, May 25 - Monday, May 28). I could probably be persuaded to take that Friday off and get somewhere Thursday evening or Friday morning.
