Quick question/opinion for the Opty gurus, which one do you think would have the most oc'ing headroom, a pr of 242cg stepping or a pr of 248 e stepping?

Both are single core, and will be in a dual proc configuration on an Asus K8N-DL.

Thanks
Donut

The 'E' revision chips should generally do better. CG clawhammers usually top out at about 2.6ish, where the 'E' series chips can frequently hit 2.8GHz. I'm really not too familiar with the 940 socket procs, but that is the general K8 theory :)

Basic difference is 130nm (CG) versus 90nm (E). E revision should consume less power and have a better memory controller as well.
