Hi

Since the arrival of a new "family" member (the new rig) I need to get a LAN up and running.

I have the following in mind.
A router that will connect to the WAN (internet) and a gigabit switch to handle the LAN.

I am looking at these products, please give me some comments.
Is it a good router or does it suck?
It seems that wired routers stopped evolving in 2002 or 2004, correct me if I am wrong? :-/

Switch Netgear GS105

My internet connection is a 4 Mbit ADSL solution using DHCP (not PPPoE) ;)

For $140 US at Newegg, this Netgear WNR854T would get you:
    • 4 port Giga switch
    • Router
    • wireless...because some day you'll want to get the 'net over to a laptop

PC Authority in Australia did a lab test on Wireless Routers and the first place was a Belkin N1 Wireless Router it seems to do everything, quicker, easier and cheaper than the competition, review will be available on the website next month!

    A review

    hope this helps
