Thermal Resistance of CPU Coolers????

I'm looking at getting one of two CPU heatsink coolers. Each has 3 HDT heatpipes. One has a thermal resistance of .18 w/ 6mm heatpipes. The other has a thermal resistance of .12 w/ 8mm heatpipes. This seems to be a big difference between the two and with all things being equall it seems that the .12 and 8mm product would be better. Any feedback would be good.
